As part of my UI/UX course at John Bryce, we were tasked with creating a disruptive technology and designing a complete product experience—not just as designers, but as innovators. My team and I chose to revolutionize home grocery management by developing a system that tracks inventory, detects shortages, and suggests recipes, taking the shopping and meal-planning experience to the next level.
The Vision
REARRANGE is an app that offers smart grocery management through data collection via an external product: a weight-pad connected to a scanner and camera.
With this product, the app knows exactly what items are in your home, where they are located in the fridge or pantry, and the precise remaining quantity of each product in real time.
Once it has all the data, the app performs actions that optimize household management in an innovative way, aiming to make life easier for anyone managing a household—whether it’s busy parents balancing careers and home life or individuals focused on maintaining a healthy lifestyle. The app helps reduce the daily task load and enables a more efficient, accurate, and smarter approach to managing the home.
